Hemp Detoxifies Soil, So Soil Should Be Your #1 Priority
By Anne Sorensen on Jul 27, 2020
"Soil contamination occurs in most countries with a lot of farmland, heavy industry and mining. In Ukraine, for example, which has all three, about 8% of the land is contaminated. A chemical dump in upstate New York called Love Canal resulted in the poisoning of many residents and the creation of the “superfund”, a federal programme to clean up contaminated soil. But the biggest problems occur in China, the world’s largest producer of food and of heavy industrial commodities such as steel and cement."
In 2014, the Chinese government published a national soil study showing that 19.4% of farmland was contaminated by chemical pollutants and heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, and arsenic. An earlier study in 2010 showed that 18% of China's river water was too polluted for use in agriculture - but it is used anyway. To add further injury, their land is being poisoned by sewage irrigation - when wastewater is used to irrigate crops because fresh water is not available.

If you enjoy rice, soybeans, peanuts, tea, or CBD hemp oil, there is a very good chance that it was grown and processed in China. These are considered commodity products and come to the U.S. very cheaply. Grocery stores stock these food and herbal products and no one is the wiser except for the tiny "Made in China", "Grown in China", or no origin label at all because the raw commodities were processed and packaged here in the U.S.
This is why soil should be your #1 priority for any agricultural product - but especially for hemp - and here's why: The hemp plant is what’s called a soil remediator. Soil remediators are Mother Nature’s vacuum cleaners. Hemp grows quickly, has deep roots, and ravenously absorbs a wide variety of toxins from the soil including chemicals, heavy metals, and radioactive elements. In fact, hemp has been used all over the world to clean up polluted areas affected by radiation.

View More InfoSo guess what – any of the terrible stuff that hemp absorbs from the soil goes right into your hemp oil. That’s why it’s imperative that you know where and how your hemp was grown. One way to ensure you are getting the highest quality CBD hemp oil is to purchase only from organic growers within the United States and Canada where agricultural regulations for hemp are strict.
Because there are a lot of bad actors in the CBD world, good actors like Montana Pure Botanicals spend thousands of dollars each year to have their CBD hemp oils tested by third party laboratories. These test results are then provided to consumers in reports called COAs, Certificates of Analysis. COAs provide a full breakdown of the cannabinoid and terpene content (which is really neat!) as well as testing results for toxins, microbials, and heavy metals found in the hemp oil. Even companies that post their COAs often show significant heavy metal content, so be sure to actually take a look at these reports!
The CBD Face Oil by Montana Pure Botanicals is forever my favorite! I use it twice a day. It’s calming to my skin while hydrating at the same time. It’s helped clear up my completion and the texture of my skin has never been better. - Ashley T., Kalispell, Montana
As you can imagine, there are no COAs provided by hemp oil producers in China. Their CBD hemp oil products are often very inexpensive and sold at U.S. gas stations, grocery stores, and sometimes dispensaries. For your health and wellbeing, opt for an organically grown U.S. hemp oil product sold by a grower that provides the highest quality and transparency instead.
